use boxplot.n library in gplots.
usage:
 library(gplots)
 data1<- your dataset1
 data2<- your dataset2
 boxplot.n(data1,data2,top=TRUE,names=c("left","right"))


*top=FALSE : the sample size will appear at the bottom
